If you ask Keith, it all began with an episode of Seinfeld that—somehow, beneath its absurdity—left him with some very practical questions. Namely, what if the way we’ve always been taught to do real estate is broken or outdated? And what might we discover if we did the opposite?
When he founded The Burkhardt Group in 2007, after decades spent with some of New York’s best-known real estate companies, Keith chose innovation over convention. First, it was through no-fee rentals. Then, he became the first broker in New York City to introduce the commission-rebate model. His disruptive approach has been covered by everyone from The Real Deal to The New York Times, but ultimately, his business speaks for itself: Since its inception, The Burkhardt Group has closed nearly $1 billion in sales.
